The head of state conducted a visit to meet with national troops in the Pokrovsk area on Tuesday. Zelenskyy announced that he consulted soldiers at the command post of the first unit of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is managing protective maneuvers in the Dobropillya sector, a town approximately 20km from the focal point.

Critical Circumstances in Pokrovsk

Updated analysis from a national effort revealed that opposition armies had made gains into Pokrovsk and nearby locations, though a large portion was not fully held by any party. The status is precarious, with reports indicating that invading units were digging in and building up positions in some districts.

Russian forces continue to advance in the Pokrovsk sector and appear to be operating with increasing comfort within the city proper.

Analysts observed that national troops had freed a large area of a enemy advance in the Dobropillya front, on the eastern flank of the Pokrovsk campaign.

Ukrainian Drone Strikes Within Russian Territory

Kyiv's aerial vehicles attacked an industrial plant approximately 1,300km inside Russia at the location. Local officials confirmed a blast at the industrial complex that resulted in structural damage to partially collapse, adding that the reason for the blast was unconfirmed. The national defense command stated there was significant destruction to the facility.

National forces confirmed attacking a Lukoil oil refinery at Kstovo in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region east of Moscow. The degree of impact was under evaluation. The local official confirmed an attack by 20 drones near the refinery.

Kremlin Military Policy Changes

Russian military reservists will now have to protect fuel facilities against unmanned assaults after the Russian leader signed a law on the weekday expanding their participation in the military campaign. The national leader also signed a law permitting draft enrollment throughout the year whereas previously it was possible only during restricted intervals in fall and spring. Russian law prohibits recruits from being deployed to combat, but after their military service they enter Russia's reserves, placing them in danger of being assigned to combat zones.

Substantial defense expenditures have also started to strain the Russian state budget, with Moscow raising taxes to plug a rising deficit.

Ukrainian Leader's Calls for International Support

The national leader urged the US to continue considering to providing Ukraine with extended-distance arms. Appealing to European leaders from the Pokrovsk area, the national leader also requested more international restrictions on Russia – including on fuel and power segments – and said he sought accession to the union prior to the next decade.

International Support and Foreign Policy Updates

Germany plans to boost armed assistance to Ukraine by a substantial amount next year to about 11.5 billion euros, the treasury department in the capital said on the start of the week. This includes, among other things, cannons, aerial vehicles, military transports and the substitution of air defense units.

The federation's diplomatic mission later posted condolences for the passing of a Romanian worker in the accident but seized the moment to complain that the negative feedback to the comments was biased against Russia.
